HD Camera for Android: 4K Cam

What it does

HD Camera for Android: 4K Cam is a camera and basic editing app for Android phones. It combines photo and video capture with tools for adjusting exposure, ISO and white balance, plus live beauty effects, cropping, video trimming and collage layouts. It suits people who want more capture controls than their phone’s default camera offers, but also want quick visual edits in the same app.

Who it suits

The mix is aimed at casual photographers and selfie users as well as people who like to adjust camera settings themselves. Composition guides and face detection can help with framing; filters let users preview a look before taking a photo. The added controls may take some getting used to if you only want a simple point-and-shoot camera.

Device considerations

As a camera app, it needs access to the camera, and saving photos and videos requires access to device media or storage. Video recording also involves the microphone when capturing sound. The app advertises 4K video, though the resolution available can depend on the phone’s camera hardware. External SD-card saving is offered for devices that support it. Its range of capture and editing tools makes it a more involved choice than a basic camera app.

Where it fits

Compared with a phone’s stock camera, this app brings manual adjustments, live effects and editing tools into one place. A dedicated photo or video editor may offer a different, more focused editing workflow, while a camera app built into the phone may be simpler and better matched to its hardware. HD Camera for Android: 4K Cam has more than 10 million installs and a 4.47 average from 63,449 ratings. It is developed by iMediaStar.
